  • In small skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat. Add onions; sauté until softened (about 3-5 minutes). Transfer to a large bowl.
  • Add meat, ½ cup cream, bread crumbs, eggs, pepper, nutmeg and allspice; salt to taste. Mix until just combined (mixture will be soft).
  • Form into 1-inch meatballs; place on a greased large baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 375°F oven until cooked through (about 15 minutes).
  • Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, melt remaining ¼ cup butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour; cook, whisking 1 minute. Whisk in beef stock; bring to a boil, whisking constantly. Boil 1 minute; reduce heat and whisk in remaining ½ cup whipping cream. Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add meatballs to sauce; simmer, stirring occasionally, 15-20 minutes or until desired consistency is reached. Serve with mashed potatoes.
