Creamed Spinach

DIRECTIONS

  • In large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add spinach (in batches if needed), onion and garlic; salt and pepper to taste. Sauté until spinach is wilted and onions are softened (about 5 minutes). Drain excess liquid from pan.
  • Stir in flour to coat spinach; cook 1 minute. Gradually stir in half & half, cheese and lemon zest. Transfer to a greased 2-quart baking dish. Combine bread crumbs, butter and Italian seasoning. Sprinkle over spinach.
  • Bake in a preheated 350°F oven 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
