*Using 2008 Nielsen Homescan shopper's panel grocery data for an average shopper, Farm Fresh calculated the base unit price difference, which is the branded average everyday retail price minus the private label average everyday retail price for each of 160 grocery product categories. The base unit price difference then was multiplied by the branded purchase size, which yields the savings per trip. This number then was multiplied by the branded purchase frequency for each of the 160 categories, and the sum of the 160 categories equals the total net annual savings.
